About Our Group

Revised 5/17/2008

We are a group of male and female Sun City Lincoln Hills residents who meet on a regular monthly basis to enjoy each other’s company while listening to selected topics of interest and chatting about local community subjects.

Our new motto “to relax and be informed” has changed from the original founder’s slogan “ to do nothing and to do it better at each and every get-together!”

Today’s group remains informal and organizationally simple! We are a social, Association shared-interest group and run “a no dues membership”. When attending a session, signing-in is required, and we often remember to wear our badges for better recall. Guests are welcome! We have abandoned that historical early but second caffeine-fix in favor of bottled water.

For more than five years, the speaker programming has covered many topics: personal health and welfare; local area administrative, service and economic developments; and general social interests. A 2002-2007 speaker-list exists.

During 2008, the meeting venue and times are as follows:

  • Every third Monday of the month at Kilaga Springs Lodge (KS) Presentation Hall starting at 9:00AM; exceptions will be communicated
  • Programming includes interesting topical keynote speakers, selected resident  panels getting to know one another better, and other entertaining events
  • Additional 30 minutes are now available to the earlier 90 minute program allowing an open-forum, and chat-session for more neighborly and  information exchange opportunities.

Historically, a steering-committee functions as the group’s management-team focusing on an evolving and group-driven activity calendar. Per the Association group-guidelines, a simple group guideline and steering committee profile exists.

Meeting announcements are published in the monthly Association Compass magazine as well as the Association website http://www.lincolnsuncity.org, the local monthly Sun Senior News, as well as our first-class website http://www.secondcup.org/ for the most current and archived information.
